We're the Norwin Council of PTAs and we stand together.

PTA is America’s oldest child advocacy organization, buoyed by the commitment and support of millions of teachers, parents, grandparents, caregivers, and more for over 125 years. The National PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children, and we work hard to uphold that mission here at Norwin.

Why a Council?

Like most school districts, Norwin’s individual schools maintain their own PTA units. This localized approach allows each unit to be more responsive to the unique needs and concerns of parents and teachers, ensuring the greatest positive impact on the children they serve.

However, as children grow older and transition to new schools, so do their parents. This shift can create continuity challenges for PTA units. While PTAs consistently navigate these transitions, we aimed to make the process smoother and less challenging.

Founded in 1994, the Norwin Council of PTAs was established to ensure that the knowledge and experience of our PTA members endure throughout this journey. We coordinate efforts across Norwin’s individual PTA units, providing a shared repository of local knowledge accumulated by hundreds of dedicated members and volunteers. In addition, we fundraise, organize community-wide events, award scholarships to graduating Norwin seniors, and much more.

Living Up To PTA Values

PTA is, at its heart, about bringing people together in shared purpose. All PTA units, both here at Norwin and across the country, strive to live up to National PTA’s values. They are the means by which we live up to our mission.

Collaboration

We will work in partnership with a wide array of individuals and organizations to broaden and enhance our ability to serve and advocate for all children and families.
