Volunteer Judges Needed for Norwin K-8 District Science Fair

The Norwin Council of PTAs is seeking volunteer judges for our Annual K-8 District Science Fair, hosted on Saturday, March 1, 2025! If you have a background in the science, engineering, or education fields it’s not too late to volunteer and help make our science fair an inspiring one for our budding young scientists!
About the Science Fair
Our annual science fair will take place on Saturday, March 1, 2025 from 9am to 11:30am at the Norwin Middle School at 10870 Mockingbird Lane, North Huntingdon, PA.
Students will present their projects in one of three categories:
- Experiment Testing hypotheses through experimentation
- Invention Developing creative solutions to problems
- Discovery Exploring scientific concepts and presenting findings
A fourth category, the Explorers Division, features group projects that are evaluated based on participation rather than scoring.
Why Volunteer?
- Easy-to-use scoring system – Judges complete a simple rubric on their phone, tablet, or laptop.
- No student interviews – Judging is based solely on the projects.
- No subject-specific expertise required – A background in science, engineering, or education is helpful, but deep knowledge in a specific field isn’t necessary.
- Enjoy complimentary refreshments and lunch as a token of our appreciation!
